SBNNEWS ::: 11092024 Death of Two Journalists:NAWOJ Condoles NUJ Akwaibom Council, NAWOJ Akwaibom Chapter and the Akwaibom State Government

The National Secretariat of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has written to condole with the Akwaibom State Government, the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwaibom State Council and NAWOJ, Akwaibom State Chapter on the death of Comrade Patience John and Comrade Esther Ukpe, of the Akwaibom Broadcasting Corporation and member of the state house press corps and of the Federated Chapel of the Union respectively.

The association is shocked at the news of their death at a time when their services as professionals were most invaluable and highly sought after.

In a press release signed by Wasilah Ladan, National Secretary, Comrade Aisha Ibrahim, National Chairperson of the association stated: “To say the least, the death of these members of the pen profession hits hard, a huge loss to the Fourth Estate of the realm and a loss to humanity who had relied so much on their professional services of informing, educating and entertaining the people with their media craft.”

The NAWOJ boss also enjoined the bereaved families of the departed to take solace in the fact that while their beloved lived, they put their best foot forward in all their earthly tasks and have left memories of good relationships that would linger on.

While wishing the souls of the departed peaceful repose, the NAWOJ national Chairperson also thanked the Akwaibom State Government for the mutual relationship enjoyed with the Press over the years and appealed that it does all that it can to give succor to members of the deceased families left behind.

E-Signed
