PROFILE OF HON. FRANK ARCHIBONG UDOH

Hon. Frank Archibong Udoh was born in the 70s to the family of Late Archibong Udoh of Ikot Ibiok Village in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. He obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSCL) at Community Primary School, Rumuoamasi, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and proceeded to Methodist Boys High School, Oron, Akwa Ibom State where he obtained his West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE).

 

Archibong attended the Prestigious University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and graduated with a B.Sc. Degree in Marketing. Propelled by his insatiable quest for knowledge, he followed up with a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the same University; an advancement that shaped his approach to leadership, and provided him with the tools to tackle complex administrative challenges.

 

Archibong, before delving fully into politics, had a brief experience working in the Oil and Gas sector. He worked at Freco Nigeria Limited as Site Manager; and at Saibos Nig.Ltd., an affiliate of Saipem Nig. Ltd., as Asst. Foreman. While at Saibos Nig. Ltd., he was involved in several projects in Mobil and Total Field, including the Installation and Hook-up of the Yoho and Amana Kpono Platforms.

 

He thereafter ventured into politics fully where he served as the National Vice-Chairman of Continuity Advancement Group (CAG), and also the National Organizing Secretary of Akwa Ibom Consolidation Alliance (ACA); both socio-political groups that were pivotal to the successes of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 elections in the State.

 

His positive and impactful contributions to the emergence of political administrations in the State took him to the public office domain to serve his people, where he was saddled with the responsibility of overseeing sectors in the third-tier of government. From being the Supervisor for Works in Eket Local Government Transition Committee to Supervisor for Youths and Sports. He also served as the Secretary, Transition Committee and later became the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Eket Local Government Area. At a time, Frank Archibong also served as a Commissioner in the Law Reforms Commission, Akwa Ibom State.

 

Having subjected himself to vast experiences in the third-tier of government, and his unquenchable desire to bring development to his people, Archibong contested and won the Local Government election as Chairman, Eket Local Government Council, Akwa Ibom State, and was duly elected by the 31 Local Government Chairmen as the Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Akwa Ibom State Branch. His creditable performance as the ALGON Chairman, Akwa Ibom State in the congregation of the 36 State Chairmen of ALGON, led to his emergence as the National Treasurer of ALGON.

 

As Chairman of ALGON, AKS Branch, Frank Archibong attended several Seminars, Workshops and Trainings, both at home and abroad. Notably, he participated in the Anti-Corruption, Ethic, and Integrity Training organized by Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria, held in Abuja, Nigeria. He also participated in the Study Tour of the Kingdom of Morocco, organized by the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLG) and ALGON, Nigeria, held at Morocco. In addition, he attended an International Workshop on Best Practices in Leadership and Local Administration, held in White Marsh, Baltimore, USA.

 

Archibong has been Coordinator, Eket Local Government Mobilization and Advisory Committee of the PDP; and has served severally as Chairman, Eket Local Government Area PDP Congress Coordinating Committee; and as Chairman, Eket Local Government Area PDP Election Coordinating Committee.

 

He was the Director of Finance, Maintain Peace Movement (MPM), a Movement that mid-wifed the Umo Eno/Akon Eyakenyi Campaign Council. He was also the Coordinator of Umo Eno/Akon Eyakenyi Campaign Council in Eket LGA; and the Director of Finance of the Campaign Council in the State. Hon. Frank Archibong Udoh served in the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council as the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, under Governor Udom Emmanuel, from 2020 to 2023; and under Governor Umo Eno from 2023 till when the Council was dissolved by the Governor in January, 2025.

 

In addition to being a Distinguished Fellow of the prestigious Institute of Corporate Administration (FCIA), he is a recipient of so many Awards/Honours, not limited to the following:

Achievers’ Award presented by the Law Student’s Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN) on 4th September, 2015.

 

Award of Excellence presented by Nigerian Union of Journalists, Local Government Information Chapel, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on 13th February, 2018.

 

Merit Award presented by Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council in recognition of valuable contributions to Media Programmes and Development in Akwa Ibom State in commemoration of the 2019 World Press Freedom Day on 2nd May, 2019.

 

Merit Award presented by Times News for meritorious contributions as the Best Local Government Chairman in Human Development and Employment in Akwa Ibom State on 29th August, 2019.

 

Humanitarian Service Award presented by Rotary Club of Uyo Metropolis

 

As a philanthropist, Frank has a foundation called ‘’Archibong Udoh Foundation’’. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting indigent students by providing them with resources, scholarships, mentorship and innovative programs. Particularly, the Foundation provides free Jamb Forms to over 500 students yearly, as well as free tutorials to prepare them for the examination. In addition, the Foundation offers grants to hundreds of indigent students in tertiary Institutions, both home and abroad, to help cover their tuition fees and other accompanying expenses.

As a dedicated Public Servant, Frank firmly believes that leadership is rooted in integrity and accountability. He considers his position in the society as an opportunity to leave meaningful and positive imprints in the sands of time.

Frank is happily married to a beautiful, caring and very resourceful wife, Mrs. Bright Archibong and the marriage is blessed with three children
