Rep. Unyime Idem, representing the Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, has pledged the National Assembly’s support to the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) in its efforts to restore food sufficiency in Nigeria.
Rep. Idem, who chairs the House Committee on Public Procurement, made this assurance during a courtesy visit by Alwan Ali Hassan, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of BOA, at the National Assembly complex in Abuja.
“The National Assembly will provide BOA with every legislative backing needed to ensure adequate food production for the country, and even more, to enable export and generate revenue for Nigeria,” stated Rep. Idem.
During the visit, BOA CEO Alwan Ali Hassan highlighted the purpose of seeking the National Assembly’s support to address the food insufficiency crisis, which has led to soaring food prices and related issues.
“We’re confident that with the backing of the National Assembly, we can assure Nigerians that these issues will be resolved in the near future,” said Hassan.
