Dear Leader,
I am compelled to compose this communication to address a pressing matter that weighs heavily on my heart. It grieves me to witness the young individuals who represent the future leaders and mothers of our historically oil-rich state making the arduous journey across the lake in order to nurture their aspirations. Regrettably, this scenario has persisted for an indeterminate number of years, with no tangible efforts being made by either the government or the constituents of Eket to rectify the situation.
It is disconcerting to observe that certain notable figures from our community have chosen spouses from this educational institution. Some of these individuals have benefitted from their association with the school, such as serving as Parent-Teacher Association chairpersons. However, they have not taken measures to address the existing challenges, simply because their own children do not attend this institution.
Imagine the emotional turmoil of watching your own offspring navigate such obstacles to achieve the aspirations you hold for them.
The current state of affairs is undeniably distressing, particularly given the era in which we find ourselves. I respectfully implore all relevant authorities – including the state government, local governing bodies, and private entities – to extend their assistance to the disadvantaged secondary school students. Girls High School Ikot Ibiok stands as one of the premier educational establishments in Eket, deserving of prioritized attention and support.
