The Sole Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for Chairmanship race in Eket Local Government, Mr. Akaniyene Tommey, has been declared as the winner of the Party Primary Election ahead of the October 5, Local Government Council Elections in Akwa Ibom State.
The election was held at the Local Government Council Hall today August 3, 2024.
Tommey who pulled a total of 41 out of the 42 accredited delegate eligible voters in a smooth and transparent process was declared by the Returning Officer Hon. Barr. Samuel Udokoh.
In his acceptance speech, the Incoming Executive Chairman, thanked his Excellency Pst. Umo Eno, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom for the opportunity he has given him to serve and finding him fit for a second term.
Hon. Tommey also thanked Eket Stakeholders of the party, Chief Barr. Assam Assam, Hon. Frank Archibong, Hon. David Lawrence, Dr. Nsidibe Akata, Chief C. H. Isong, leaders of Urban zone and the Party led by Obongiwaad Emmanuel Mbong for their support and pivotal role in his reelection.
The PDP candidate Mr. Akaniyene Tommey pledged to run an all-inclusive administration, work with everyone and bring development to Eket Local Government.
