The All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), FCT Chapter led by its President,Bello Gupa Adam has expressed their appreciation to the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Bar Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, for his commitment to enhancing the educational sector within the FCT.
Speaking during its recent 172nd National Congress held at Government Secondary School, karshi, the President of the Confederation highlighted and commended several key initiatives led by the FCT Minister.
ANCOPSS acknowledged the Minister’s pivotal role in creating an enabling environment for Schools, fostering quality education through the accelerated rehabilitation and reconstruction of dilapidated structures as well as the provision of much-needed infrastructural facilities across the six area councils.
He noted that,the Minister’s efforts have been instrumental in elevating school principals to administrative roles of Permanent Secretaries, thereby empowering leadership within the educational system.
The leadership of the School Administrators during the congress, emphasized the need to cultivate strong, positive and healthy relationships with staff and students and to maintain a proactive approach to school administration.
He urged them to have Zero Tolerance for Bullying in the school system,ensuring schools are safe spaces by actively preventing and addressing any form of bullying.
He urged them to prioritize academic excellence, cultivate the culture and committing to regular upkeep of school facilities and maintaining clean, healthy environments for learning to achieve high academic outcomes.
He also reminded them of the need to adhere to approved sundry charges stressing on enforcing guidelines to mould students in the right direction.
Speaking earlier, the Principal of the Host School, Government Secondary School,Karshi,Malam Kobo Yahaya said, the school over the years has achieved both academic and extra curricular activities success such as Best in Corporate Social Responsibility ,emerged 1st Position in the Regional Company of the Year Competition, FCT and Most innovative School for the year, among other awards.
He expressed his delight to the ANCOPSS body and the Education Secretariat while in appreciation of the School renovation by the Honourable Minister FCT, the School StaffRoom was named as ‘Nyesom Wike Hall’
Other people who spoke include Director, Junior School, Hajia Ramatu Kamal, representatives of Director/Secretary, FCT Secondary Education Board and Director, Education Resource Centre respectively.They commended the principals for their support and commitment towards achieving the Mandate of the FCT Education Secretariat .
