Mr. Akaniyene Tommey don return as Executive Chairman of Eket Local Government for him second term, after Govnor of Akwa Ibom State, Pst. Umo Eno, swear am in.
Di swearing-in happen for Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo.
Gov. Eno wey swear in di 31 Local Government Chairmen and their Vice Chairmen, tell dem make dem work together as one system. E warn dem make dem no misuse di idea of autonomy, say no arm of government fit run alone.
Di govnor still promise say e go respect di autonomy of Local Government, but e remind dem say all di arms of government get
responsibility to di people.
As e talk on behalf of di newly sworn-in Chairmen, Mr. Akaniyene Tommey thank di people for di support wey carry am and PDP candidates waka win. E talk say di reason why PDP perform well na because of di good work wey Govnor Umo Eno and him team don do for di state. E promise say e go continue di same work for di Local Government.
After di swearing-in, di new Chairman go pay homage to di Paramount Ruler of Eket, HRM, Abong E. C. D. Abia for him palace. Di Royal Father welcome am with plenty joy.
As e dey thank di Royal Father, Mr. Tommey repeat e commitment to serve Eket people well and use di resources of di area to develop di community.
