Di Governor talk say di rally, wey dey carry engagement and empowerment packages, go fulfil di promise wey im make to appreciate di youths for di support wey dem give am and di leadership of di State, when dem decide to no join di recent nationwide protest because some bad people fit hijack am.
According to am, dem go outline how dem go run di programme for di rally and dem go publish di names of people wey go benefit from each LGA for verification.
E explain say di youths wey go join di rally go come from di 31 LGAs as representatives, and e add say di SMEs wey dem choose for di programme na genuine ones wey people fit verify.
“We go get one rally to engage and empower our youths. Dat rally go happen for Tuesday, 10th of September for Uyo township Stadium. We go carry 200 youths from each of di 31 local government areas. Dem go be representatives of their local government areas. On dat day, we go explain how we go support 5000 youths for our state immediately.
“We go also empower Small and Medium Enterprises from different parts of di State. Dis empowerment go dey different from di ones wey we dey normally do. We don finish selection already and we get 2000 of dem, so no need to fake anything. We sabi these people, we don go their shops, we don do needs assessment and we know wetin dem want. We go publish their names and local government areas so dat anybody fit verify.
We believe say if we support these SMEs, dem go help facilitate socio-economic growth for our state. Dat na my idea of empowerment,” Governor Eno talk.
Di Governor also announce say di State Government don ready to start sharing food items directly to di less-privileged without using agents as middlemen.
E talk say some agents no fit follow di terms of engagement for di bulk purchase programme, so dis new phase of distribution go dey directly through di Bulk Purchase Agency.
