The event wey happen on Saturday na part of the preparation for the October 5th local government council election, and PDP use di opportunity take give flag to dia Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Engr. Oto-Obong Essien, plus the twelve councilorship candidates.
Di campaign wey dem do for Ikono Council Secretariat field pull plenty crowd—PDP supporters, traditional rulers, community leaders, youths, and women all show face, promise support for the PDP candidates. For this election, Engr. Oto-Obong Okon Essien go run as chairmanship candidate, while Ukai John Bassey na im go be vice-chairmanship candidate, with twelve councilorship aspirants.
PDP State Chairman, Hon. Aniekan Akpan, talk for the rally say Govnor Umo Eno dey committed to develop Ikono LGA. He remind the people say di govnor don promise to repair the 21.5-kilometer Ikot Ayan Ediene/Nkwot/Nung Ukim road network wey get 45-meter bridge, as part of im plans for better infrastructure for the area.
Akpan come praise Govnor Eno for the work wey im don do—roads, housing, schools, agriculture, health insurance, and pension for retirees. He talk say, “Oga govnor don give me power to assure una say all di project wey im start for Ikono, e go finish dem. Today, we get female chairmanship candidate, which show say govnor dey balance gender for im governance.”
