Tanker Driver Crushes Six To Death, Injures Seven In Jigaw
A 45-year-old canter driver, Tasi’u Ashiru, has crushed six people to death and injured seven others in Jigawa State.
The incident happened on Wednesday at Sabon Garin Takanebu, Miga LGA, along the Jahun to Gujungu Road when the driver lost control and ran into marketers at the market.
Many died, while others sustained various degrees of injuries.
The spokesman of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the incident to newsmen.
Shiisu added that a team of policemen rushed to the scene and conveyed both the corpses and the injured to the Jahun General Hospital.
He disclosed that three additional persons died on their way to the hospital, bringing the total number of deaths to six.
He also pleaded with motorists to drive carefully and with due caution, warning that anyone caught driving recklessly or causing deaths through careless driving would be arrested and face appropriate legal action.
